About Us

Amal College of Advanced Studies was established by The Nilambur Muslim Orphanage Committee (NMOC) in the year 2005. The idea of the College was, in fact, conceived by Sri PV Abdul Wahab who was then Chairman of the Committee. He is, as such, the founding father of the College. The College started functioning with three Programmes. The college comes under section 2 F& 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956.  The college is a Minority Educational Institution, covered under section 2(g) of the National Commission for Minority Educational Institution Act, 2004.

Currently, it is a postgraduate College and runs eleven programmes. The College is the only college in the country with a 20% reservation, in all courses, for Muslim Orphans.  The College has been meritoriously serving the educational needs of the young people in and around Nilambur and is now making strides in projects aimed at its development.

The College is located in Santhigramam, a picturesque campus with 25-acre land, on the banks of river Chaliyar, in Myladi, Nilambur, a place well-known for tribal settlements and teak plantations.
