Orientation Programme for the enrolled candidates of Multi Cuisine Cook Course under ASAP,


Orientation Programme for the enrolled candidates of Multi Cuisine Cook Course under ASAP, Govt. of Kerala is being inaugurated by Mr. V. Ummer Koya, The Director of JSS. The course is conducting for the ladies from neighbouring community with an aim to upgrade their livelihood. It is funded by Govt. of Kerala and offering as free of cost. The course will start on 14th October at Amal College campus in collaboration with Department of Tourism and Hotel Managemnet and JSS Malappuram.

  • Tourism Day Celebrations; The department celebrates world tourism day  on 27th September and Indian Tourism day on 25th January of every year.
  • “DEVANITE HUMAIN”: On 4th August 2015, A Tribute to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. Organised
    • A photo exhibition on Kalam’s Life.
    • Exhibited a documentary on our former President.
    • Presented a film of “I am Kalam”.
“Gourmets Nite ‘09” a Food Festival


  • “Gourmets Nite ‘09” a Food Festival: It is a first of its kind in Malappuram district that brought an array of different culinary experiences to the familiarity of the people of the district.
  • The department entered in to the LIMCA BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS, for showcasing the skills and creativity of the students marked for meticulous planning and pace in the food preparation and its uniqueness.
  • “Gourmets Nite ‘11” a Food Festival: Another experience for the people to taste the world class cuisines.
District Tourism Camp


District Tourism Camp; On 25th and 26th January 2017, the Two days Malappuram district Tourism camp was hosted by the department at the college.  256 students and 43 teachers of various tourism clubs of colleges and schools attended the camp.

Meet the Industry Persons (MIP)


  • Meet the Industry Persons (MIP). Another initiative of the department to bridge the institution and the industry. Every month an expert from the industry is invited to the campus to interact with students which will benefit the students by keeping them informed and up to date with regard to the  developments and practices in the industry.


FOOD SAFETY INITIATIVE: On 18th February 2016, the department conducted one day awareness and training programme on Food safety and hygiene for THATTUKADA Workers.

  • Meet the Alumnae; The department conducts interaction sections with the alumni of the department who got better placement in the industry.
