Amal Centre for Palliative Care

The goal of palliative care is to relieve the suffering of patients and their families by the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment. By engaging students in palliative care, their energy can be utilised for the benefit of patients with chronic disease and their participation will inculcate the spirit of care and positive effect . With this aim , Amal College of Advanced studies started an extension wing, 'Amal Center for Palliative Care". Under the auspices of which hundreds of students are given sensitization classes and training in palliative care in each year. It links with local palliative care units, which function in different parts of the local areas, by which students are becoming active volunteers in fund collection and home care. Apart from that they are selling products made by patients to raise the fund. They are running campaign in selected areas especially on palliative day to spread the concept of Neighbourhood Network in Palliative Care and related messages . Amal Center for Palliative Care bagged the best palliative campus unit award three times for improving the quality of life for chronically ill and medically fragile patients.
