Unnath Bharath Abhiyan - UBA


Our College has been selected as one of the Participating Institute of UBA (Unnath Bharath Abhiyan). It is a flagship programme of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India to involve higher education institutions in the indigenous development of self-sufficient and sustainable village clusters for inclusive India.

With the intention of enriching rural India, selected institutions are expected to customize the available technology and develop new technology, as per the local needs, and improve the implementation of existing government programmes.

It also aims at getting most of the country’s higher education institutions in the inclusive development of villages, in collaboration with district authorities, through social, managerial and technological interventions through their faculty and students.  We have adopted Amarambalam,  Karulai, Edakkara, Nilambur and  KurumbalanEode villages under the scheme.

On 26th December 2018, the UBA Centre of the College conducted an interactive session with UBA Stakeholders as part of the introduction of the Scheme. The national coordinator of UBA,  Professor V.K Vijay (renowned scientist and Professor, IIIT Delhi) interacted with Amal faculty members.  Prof Vijay delivered a lecture on  'HEIs and community engagements' He said that the community engagement refers to the establishment of sustainable relationships with the local community to improve students’ learning and wellbeing outcomes and assist students to understand their role in the broader community. Community partners may include child and health services, community organizations, sporting clubs, education and training providers, government organizations, local businesses, and industry. Through these partnerships, schools may increase their ability to offer a range of experiences, real-life learning opportunities, support and resources that are not available within the school to improve students’ learning and wellbeing outcomes.

Along with him, Dr. Aravind( Associate Professor, Technical University Delft, the Netherlands) also interacted with amal fraternity. Sri. PV Abdul Wahab MP, Hon’ble. Founder and Patron of the College chaired at the ceremony.
