Department of Tourism and Hotel Management in Amal College is hosting a job oriented skill course on behalf of Jan Sikshan Sansthan (JSS), Malappuram under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) is a scheme of Government of India.

DDU-GKY is a part of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), tasked with the dual objectives of adding diversity to the incomes of rural poor families and cater to the career aspirations of rural youth.

At present, we are conducting Cook General- Food and Beverage Service Course under this scheme. As part of this programme, rural youth from age group 18-35 years are selected, counseled, skill trained and finally provided with employment to sustain their livelihood. Each of the candidates is privileged to be a trainee in this training programme. The duration of the programme is 3 to 6 months. Trainees will get internship and campus placement in reputed hotels after the course completion. The course is completely free and food and hostel accommodation are also provided.

            3 batches of training have already completed and the fourth batch is undergoing. More than 100 students from economically and the socially backward community has completed their training and placed in both Government and Private hotel establishments.
